Tapestry depicting a woman dressed in the colorful attire of the region picking arums. As is customary she will carry them on her back to sell them at the local market. Vivid hues and carefully detailed work.
Using sheep wool and cotton (90/10%) on a handloom, the artist creates this colorful portrait of life in the Peruvian highlands. The brilliant colors are achieved by carefully blending industrial dyes and natural pigments, producing clear, vibrant tones. "Thika" is the Quechua term for flower. Dry clean only.
